Terms & conditions

PIR Boards (“we”, “us”, “the Company”). These terms apply to every order placed on pirboards.com. By placing an order you accept them in full. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.

1. Orders and payment

  • Payment is taken in full at checkout through a secure, SSL-encrypted payment gateway. An order confirmation email is sent automatically; it is an acknowledgement, not acceptance. The contract is formed when we confirm your delivery.
  • We may cancel any order before delivery, for example where stock is unavailable or a price was shown in error. You will be refunded in full.
  • If a card payment is declined your bank may show a pending amount; this is released by your bank, not by us.
  • Prices may change without notice, but the price confirmed at the time you order is the price you pay.

2. Products and brands

  • We sell general purpose PIR insulation boards only. Every board we supply is 2400mm x 1200mm, foil faced on both sides, with a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK, in the thickness you order.
  • Boards are supplied from any of the manufacturers listed on this website (currently Kingspan, Celotex, Soprema, Unilin, IKO, Ecotherm, Mannok and Recticel). By ordering you accept that the brand delivered may be any of these. Boards of a like-for-like specification (same thermal conductivity, thickness and size) are not returnable on the grounds of brand.
  • Images on this site are for illustration only. The product may differ in colour, print and packaging.
  • Technical data is provided as a guide. You are responsible for checking that the product suits your application and complies with Building Regulations and any specification you are working to.

3. Delivery

  • We deliver to the UK mainland postcodes listed on our delivery page. We do not deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands or postcodes outside the listed zones.
  • Orders placed before 2:30pm on a working day are delivered in 3 working days on average. Orders after 2:30pm or at the weekend are delivered in 4 working days on average. Requested delivery dates are confirmed by email once booked. Delivery times are estimates and we are not liable for losses caused by late delivery.
  • Deliveries are made Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, excluding bank holidays, on large HGV vehicles, to the kerbside. You must have enough people on site to offload, and someone present to receive and inspect the goods. Restricted or tight access must be reported to us on the day you order by replying to the order confirmation.
  • A failed delivery (nobody on site, access not reported, or goods refused) is charged at £100 + VAT, with redelivery charged again at the same rate. If you cancel after a failed delivery a £100 + VAT cancellation fee also applies.
  • Delivery addresses cannot be changed after the order is placed, for fraud prevention. Where we agree to a change, 48 hours’ written notice and a £35 + VAT admin fee apply.
  • If no one is present and the driver leaves the goods at your request, they are left at your risk.

4. Checking your delivery and damage

  • Inspect every board before signing. Do not sign until you have checked the delivery.
  • Damage or shortages must be reported to us by email, quoting your order number, while the driver is still on site. Damaged boards we agree to replace must go back with the driver.
  • Damage reported after the driver has left cannot be accepted. Drivers cannot make decisions about damage; report it to us, not to the driver.

5. Cancellations and returns

  • Cancellation before a delivery is booked: £35 + VAT admin fee. Cancellation after a delivery is booked: £100 + VAT. Orders cannot be amended or cancelled the day before dispatch.
  • Amendments to an order after it is placed carry a £35 + VAT admin fee.
  • Returns must be requested on the day of delivery. Agreed returns are subject to a minimum 30% restocking fee and a minimum £100 + VAT collection charge. Collection takes around 3 to 5 working days. Boards must be unused, uncut, dry and in their original packaging.
  • We are not responsible for errors in the quantities or thicknesses you order.
  • Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 working days of the goods being received back.
  • Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, for consumers only, the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, subject to the goods being returned at your cost in a resaleable condition.

6. Fraud prevention

Orders flagged by our checks may be held until we have received proof of identity and address and, for businesses, a company registration number and landline number. If we do not hear back within 24 hours the order may be cancelled and reported. Always check that any request comes from us and quotes your order number.

7. Website use

  • Content on this website is protected by copyright and may be viewed or printed for your own use only. It may not be republished, sold or redistributed without our written permission.
  • We do not guarantee that the website will be available at all times or free of errors. Information is provided as a guide and we accept no liability for decisions made on it; seek professional advice for your project.
  • Links to this website are welcome provided they are not misleading and do not imply endorsement. Framing of this website is not permitted.

8. Liability

Our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, delays to your project or the cost of labour. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
